First Street Gallery ART Center
Unlimited Creativity
The First Street Gallery Art Center is a unique program founded on the proposition that human potential for creativity and artistic expression is not limited by physical or developmental disabilities.  First Street Gallery Art Center began in 1989 in Claremont as a satellite program of Tierra del Sol, and has evolved over the years into an exemplary model of both art making and service delivery to people with disabilities.  Gallery memberships are available to art patrons.

The studio serves up to 50 artists daily (as well as the wider art community of southern California).  The gallery and adjacent studio are located “in the village” at First and Yale.  First Street brings in the local community through art shows and juried art competitions.  Artwork is exhibited and sold; art sales commissions go to the artist. In so doing, First Street Gallery truly “lives” its mission.  Through cultivation of artistic expression, people with significant challenges can develop creatively and make important contributions to the cultural and economic life of their communities.
