With vivid urgency and tender reverence, Clendening paints what she calls “a meaning to the word nature.” Her works on paper are alive, infused with an unruly wilderness expertly rendered in chaotic brushstrokes. Nature is Calling to Us is abundant with offerings and outcry. This is art as praise and protest, a call to protect what remains. “Nature is calling to us, really calling,” Clendening says. “And when you hear her voice in the wind, or in the rain, in the storm—she is calling and you hear her. She’s right in front of you.” Nature is Calling to Us opens Saturday, May 17th, with a reception from 6 to 8 pm. Stepping beneath the metaphorical Big Top of Jeffrey Rinsky: All About Me, visitors are greeted by a joyous celebration dancing in rhythm with delightful absurdity. Electric color fields and striking lines fill Rinsky’s world from edge to edge, with his vigorous application of media echoing the chaos of creation. All About Me is a circus untethered by the laws of reality, governed only by the artist’s profound sense of whimsy. All About Me is braided with elements of futurism, fantasy, and everyday life. One moment, Rinsky is locked in an intergalactic battle; the next, he’s conjuring golden afternoons spent with best friends. His titles read like short stories hinting at a greater saga. Comedy and tragedy meander a tonal tightrope, but Rinsky’s unbridled exuberance dispels the whisper of danger. Darkness exists, yes, but it is always amicably unmasked like a funny monster in a kitsch horror film. All About Me celebrates the artist’s uncanny ability to befriend anyone. It is a tribute to stories with happy endings and the beautifully eccentric spectacle of being alive. Jeffrey Rinsky: All About Me opens Saturday, July 12th, with a reception from 6 to 8 pm. Opening Reception: Saturday, November 15, 6-8 pm On View: November 15 – December 23, 2025 Bazaar Bazaar, as a yearly tradition, provides us with a platform to showcase the range and the depth of our artists and the community that has been built and continues to be built among them over time. Much like vendors at a market, our artists get to know each other week after week — their backgrounds, their ambitions, their lifestyles, etc. — and these relationships certainly have an effect on these individuals and their work. Each time we enter their studios, we learn so much from and about them, just as they learn from and about each other. This year’s bazaar includes a wide assortment of shops from the feathers and fur shop to the globetrotter shop to the home and garden shop to the prism shop. This is where the conceptual and the pragmatic playfully collide for us here at Tierra. Within each shop, you will find stunning works by familiar names who have been featured at or by the gallery numerous times over the years, such as Marlena Arthur, Tony Barnes, John Maull, Dru McKenzie, and Joe Zaldivar, alongside plenty of new surprises by so many of our other amazing artists who share studio space with them.
