First Street Gallery is pleased to announce the next exhibition in our gallery: “Undone.” Inspired by the 1994 Weezer lyric “If you want to destroy my sweater, hold this thread as I walk away” from the song Undone – The Sweater Song, this inclusive group show curated by Seth Pringle features artists whose use of line exposes a potential for the unraveling of their subject matter. John Lund creates furious figurative gestures whose bodies are seemingly lost in their own motion. In “Gaia’s Crown,” Cathy Ward incises swirling hair-like flows which capture the intensity of creation itself while Dru Mckenzie’s patterned portraits blend personal iconography with obsessive mark-making.
Please join us for the opening reception on April 7th during the Claremont Art Walk to meet the artists and enjoy the ooey gooey goodness of Cookie Crave. We’ll have our studio open with hundreds of available works from both of our progressive art studios (Claremont Art Center & Sunland Studio Arts) for you to browse and collect.
