The Storm Clouds are Leaving
July 16 – September 3, 2022
Tierra del Sol proudly presents Leul Asfaw: The Storm Clouds are Leaving. This is his first solo
exhibition with the Gallery, since joining the Tierra del Sol Art Studio program in 2012. Asfaw
creates lush land and cityscapes that reflect his travels and his interests in the language of spaces and places. He is drawn to color-rich vistas that allow him to express the diverse palettes of natural and built environments.
Asfaw constructs his landscapes with repetitive strikes of colored pencil on paper, often giving his work the feel of a painting. With his attention to color, he thoroughly works the medium, saturating the paper and boldly transforming layers of hues into forms that delineate structure as well as
suggest something more poetic.
Join family members of adults with developmental disabilities in an interactive forum with Julie Snyder, Tierra’s Life Planning Navigator and Eric Doran, Manager of UC Irvine’s Down Syndrome MIND Institute. Julie and Eric will answer questions from the previous Summer Series Workshops as well as provide valuable resources specifically addressing areas of life planning and aging for adults with developmental disabilities.
Please register by Friday, August 12th!
In observation of the Labor Day holiday, Tierra del Sol and all Tierra eLearning sessions and workshops will be closed on Monday, September 5, 2022. We wish you a wonderful and safe holiday.
