Marlena Arthur

About the Artist

Marlena Arthur’s art in mediums both two and three dimensional is heavily influenced by the appreciation of clean, illustrative stylization and bold coloring in cartoons and animated films. She demonstrates a remarkable eye for color and light through her own character design and imagery. Dozens of new characters, each with unique style and specific personality have been created and named by the artist. Arthur’s work demonstrates a solid understanding not only of color, expression and anatomy, but also body language, character relationships and story. She thoughtfully creates sophisticated and believable compositions which lead the viewer to get to know the characters individually and as friends. She embraces art as a medium for storytelling and focuses on consistently executing both her two dimensional compositions and her ceramics work with an incredible sense of structure and believability.
