Holiday Bazaar & Zine-Making Workshop @ Tierra del Sol Gallery

After over a year of creating from home studios and working in new online communities, Tierra artists have come forth with an explosion of passion and an invigorated zest for making art. By delving deeper into their own interior landscapes, original writings and words are woven into poetry, characters stitched into dolls, images conjured for divination, and intergalactic friendships forged. Whether on paper, thread, paint, or clay, these artists have accessed new dimensions of their creative practices and brought imaginative ideas into fruition.

Tierra del Sol Gallery is excited to present To The Touch, opening January 15 and running through March 5, 2022, curated by artist and designer Karen Kimmel. The exhibition features collaborative textile pieces, an interactive installation of punch rug pillows, and highlights the work of Tierra artists Ericka Lopez, Marie Pedrigal, Trina Kirkman, and John Lund.

Tierra del Sol and The Los Angeles Alzheimer’s Association present: “Understanding Alzheimers in Individuals with Down Syndrome”

Special Guest Speaker, Eric Doran, Manager of the UC Irvine Down syndrome MIND program, will focus on the development and aging of individuals with Down syndrome. Doran holds an MS in genetic counseling from UCI and has been involved with the Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center working with individuals with Down syndrome and their families for over 20 years.
